Greg Abbott, the Governor of Texas, officially announced on Wednesday to build a Texas border wall, as he accused the Biden government of ignoring its responsibility to guard the southern United States border. At a news conference, Abbott said today he is announcing building a Texas border wall in the state to help secure the border.
Furthermore, the governor announced a $250 million down payment to start the project, allowing the state officials to hire a project manager and get the task in progress. Abbott said that it would be built on a combination of donations of private land and state land and partially funded by donations.

The governor said that his belief, based on talks, that he already had a combination of state land along with volunteer land would yield several miles to construct a wall on the Texas state. In addition, the Dallas Morning News later reported that the down payment for the wall would come from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Over four hundred and fifty miles of the border wall, including in Texas, constructed during the Trump government. But the Biden government suddenly halted the construction of the wall after Biden took office. Critics of wall construction said it was useless and cruel, whereas supporters said it was an important part of a broader strategy to halt the flow of illegal immigration.
Over 180000 Migrants Encountered in May
Critics of the Biden government, especially Abbott, accused the national government of encouraging the recent flow in illegal immigration to the border with open border policies such as stopping wall construction and rolling back the Trump administration’s policies such as the Migrant Protection Protocols. He said that the border crisis that they are dealing with right now results from the border policies that get underway by the Biden government.
The Texas governor stated that border states such as Texas seen killing from people coming over. Abbott said that in the initial four months of 2021, the Texian Department of Public Safety experienced an eight hundred percent surge in the amount of fentanyl apprehended at the border – sufficient to kill over twenty-one million Americans.
The recent announcement comes as the increase in immigration continues, with over one lac and eighty thousand immigrants encountered in May alone. Furthermore, the Biden government blamed the increase on root causes such as poverty, violence, and climate change in Central America while softening the role relaxing restrictions and enforcement has had on the surge.
Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the U.S., told immigrants in Guatemala last week don’t come after the president of Guatemalan said that the government messaging was partially responsible for the crisis. Abbott said on Wednesday that the Biden government denied its responsibility to execute federal law to secure the border and impose the immigration laws. In the absence of the federal government, Texas is accelerating to get the job done.
